Michael has 14 years experience within the fine art, applied art, and jewel trades. Through his career he worked with private galleries and institutions, artists, charities, high-end pawnbrokers, and luxury asset lenders. His experience is reenforced with qualifications and training in metalwork and jewellery design, retail jewellery, gemmology, diamond grading, jewellery appraising, art history, and art market appraising. Michael has amassed considerable knowledge and connoisseurship, with specialisms in fine arts, applied arts, antiques, fine jewellery, diamonds, and gemstones.
Excelling in his career, Michael attracted both public media and trade media attention over the years, becoming the London Ambassador for the National Pawnbroking Association. This also led to a couple of years spent working with Prestige Pawnbrokers in Hatton Garden and featuring on Channel 4’s hit series Posh Pawn.
At the end of 2016 Michael left Prestige and launched a number of his own business ventures, one of which was the purchase of The Framing Workshop. Seeing the previous success of the business, Michael saw the potential of future growth and expansion with the end goal of a high end bespoke art framing and services business.
2017 saw Michael rebrand and relaunch the business as Felstead Studios.
