Frames can be custom built to a variety of different styles, from contemporary squared profiles to ornate profile. Finishes range from simple stains and waxes, through handpainted, textures, and gilding.

Unfinished profiles in oak, ask, tulip, and beech

UNFINISHED

Every frame starts with a raw timber profile. From here, either a finish could be applied or the timber could be left unfinished, the later being a perfect way to showoff the natural beauty and grain of the particular wood chosen. We work with a variety of woods, including oak, tulip, ash, pine, obeche, beech, and walnut.

Waxes and stains can add warmth and a richness to a frame. They can draw out and accentuate the natural beauty of a grain.

We offer 9 different types of canvas stretchers, allowing us to cater to most requirements. Our standard exhibition stretchers are an ideal solution for most canvases, allowing artworks on canvas to stretched long term, remaining secure and taut. Our museum stretchers are built combining wood and metal, offering the highest level of quality and strength available. Lastly, our simple stretchers offer an ideal stretcher for temporary hangs and exhibitions.

Marbling effects

EFFECTS

We have a variety of finished effects including marbling, granites, and glitter effects. Marbling and granites can offer natural stone effects or modern variations. Glitter finishes are fun and whimsical, but can also add a more subtle beauty to a frame, especially when paired with contemporary and urban artworks. Effect finishes can be combined with a variety of other finishes or colours, allowing us to be playful with the final look.

Craquelure 02

CRAQUELURE

Craquelure effects happens naturally due to drying and ageing of paint and other surface finishes. The effect can be replicated purposefully to create beautiful frame finishes. Traditional in nature, craquelure can also be paired with contemporary profiles and colours to create a much more modern style.

Yakisugi 01

YAKISUGI

Yakisugi, also known as Shou Sugi Ban, is an ancient form of timber treatment and preservation. Originally developed in Japan, it was used predominantly in architecture, but applied to framing it offers a beautiful and dramatic finish.

Gilded 01

GILDED

Gilding has remained an established and popular finish for many centuries. The use of gilding offers a beautiful, timeless, and longterm finish. We can offer gold, silver, and platinum gilding, as well as other metals such as imitation gold, aluminium, and copper. We also incorporate our gilding into our more experimental textures to create highly unique and eye catching finishes.

Corner brackets offer a unique aesthetic as well as extra strength to the frame.

PRE-FINISHED

We supply a carefully chosen range of pre-finished profiles in black, white, gold, and silver. Each of our pre-finished (factory finished) profiles are of the highest quality and offer convenient and economical framing options. Our range includes both contemporary and ornate styles.
